A lead time of at least 3-4 weeks is strongly advised for all custom cakes.
Our rich cakes can be covered in buttercream for a sturdier base, much like fondant cakes. We would normally recommend buttercream covered cakes to support a more elaborate design --- fresh cream cakes cannot.
These cakes can also be personalised with messages, modelled characters and other designs. Prices for this are available on request.
All Double Stacked cakes include internal supports in the bottom tier to ensure they stay perfect.

Just like fondant, buttercream covered cakes goes better with rich cakes. If we were to use fresh cream, the thawing duration for the filling and frosting will be totally off and you might end up with a melting cream on the outside and a hard cake on the inside.
It is important to thaw butter-based cakes to enjoy it at its best. Let the cake sit out at room temperature for an hour or two before cutting, if it’s being refrigerated prior to service. The buttercream may be hard to cut through if it’s been chilled too firmly. Same goes with Nutella filled cakes or peanut butter cakes.
Buttercream based cakes however, are a bit yellowish in nature. So blue coloured cakes will be a bit green and pink can become peach. Do take this into consideration before ordering.
