WE GUARANTEE THAT THE FLAVORS, SIZE, AND GENERAL DESIGN ELEMENTS WILL BE MET AS OUTLINED. IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH OUR PRODUCT(S) PLEASE LET US KNOW AT THE TIME YOU RECEIVE YOUR ORDER.
It may not be possible to match an exact shade of a color, but we will come as close as possible.
The final product may be subject to slight variations. We do not offer discounts or refunds if the exact shade of a color is not achieved or if a variation occurs due to lighting.
ALTHOUGH WE MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO PROVIDE AN EXACT DESIGN AND TO MATCH COLOURS, CUSTOM CAKES ARE A WORK OF ART AND MAY DIFFER FROM ONE BAKER TO ANOTHER.
Any medical related illness must be relayed to bakery. We will not be responsible if no prior notice was given.
Please inform us on any food allergies before submitting your orders.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALTHOUGH WE HAVE STRICT PROCESSES IN PLACE TO PREVENT CROSS-CONTACT THERE IS STILL A SLIGHT RISK OF THE PRESENCE OF ANY ALLERGEN.
Some colours may not be available in time from our supplier as they are imported. We will work with you to find the best option when issue arises.
Please understand that fresh flowers will wilt.
If you are providing your own flowers, we will not bear any charges to additional fresh flowers if the given flowers are bad by the day of the event.
MANGKIU BAKES WILL DO OUR BEST TO OBTAIN FRESH FLOWERS AS CLOSE TO THE COLOUR SCHEME OF YOUR CAKE AS POSSIBLE.
Kindly note that the said items are susceptible to damage due to forces of nature and also our climate but your cakes should always be good during the initial pick up.
Due to them being imported from outside the country and not grown locally, some items may not be available in time from our supplier. We will work with you to find the best option when issue arises.
Whenever possible, fresh fruits especially imported types (e.g. : strawberries, blueberries, cherries, etc) must be eaten within 8 to 24 hours after pick up.
Technically, all refrigerators are good to store fresh fruit topped cakes, but humidity may affect your fruits if they are not being kept at the bakery's chiller and at home instead. Placing your cake in and out of the fridge may also affect your toppings.
MANGKIU BAKES WILL USE ONLY THE FRESHEST FRUITS BUT PLEASE TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN ITEMS ARE NOT LOCALLY GROWN OR WHEN OFF SEASON THAT THEY MAY TURN BAD QUICKLY.
Custom figurines will have standard MANGKIU signature look design and may not be exactly same as reference photo. Although we will try to replicate your samples as close as possible.
Due to screen differences, actual colours may vary slightly from what appears in your given photo. Also be aware the exposure to light can cause colours to change in photos or in the final product. We do not offer discounts or refunds if the exact shade of a colour is not achieved or if a variation occurs due to lighting.
time & date
The delivery time and loading place will need to be confirmed two (2) business days before your event date.
Cakes may be setup 1-3 hours before your event. For outdoor events, we try to setup as close to the reception time as possible, which may limit design options.
The client must assign a representative (should they be unreachable) to liaise between event place (hotel, restaurant, etc.) and MANGKIU Bakes, for the above details.
The Client must disclose any adverse road hazards and/or obstacles that may hamper the delivery and quality of finished products. In the case of an unavoidable occurrence, such as an act of god or poor road conditions, — MANGKIU Bakes cannot be held liable for more than the price of the cake described in the order.
If the client or client representative is not available to receive the delivery. A re-delivery fee will be required at the time of receipt of goods and services.
We are allowed to contact recipient directly and inform of deliveries.
Recipient must be informed that there is something for them and ready to receive.
Should they refuse to receive and is not available, we will not offer refunds as we will need to absorb fees to send the cake back and pay driver.
Kindly understand that with any runner service comes its own risks. We would arrange the bakes as safe as we can but we will not be responsible for anything that happens during transport.
We try our best to provide a smooth service between deliveries but when dealing with surprises, please inform recipient beforehand. Should the recipient refuse to receive or is not available, we will not offer refunds as we will absorb fees to send the cake back and pay driver.
cake pick ups
If you or your representative is to pick up and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves the possession of MANGKIU Bakes.
You should prepare your vehicle so it is clean and free of items that could roll or slide into the cake. Or have someone hold on to the cake during transport.
PLEASE CHECK THAT CAKE DETAILS ARE CORRECT BEFORE LEAVING THE BAKERY. SHOULD YOU NEED ANY AMENDMENTS, THE TEAM CAN STILL AMEND. ONCE CAKE HAS LEFT THE BAKERY, IT IS CONSIDERED "ACCEPTED".
We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after pick-up or after setup is complete.
The client is responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the cake(s). Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 17°C and below. Refrigeration should be 10°C and below.
KINDLY CONSULT OUR CHEFS ON WAYS TO STORE AND BEST WAY TO CUT YOUR CAKE. WE DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO PROVIDE A WELL-STRUCTURED CAKE, BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT CAKES ARE VERY FRAGILE AND BREAK EASILY.
MANGKIU Bakes is not responsible for any damage to the cake caused by the placement of additional items by another party on the cake.
In the case of fresh flower usage on the cake, the responsibility of the flower safety and safe food practices will rest with the florist and not with MANGKIU Bakes. The person placing this order should obtain a notice of plant safety, in question, from the florist.
PLEASE INFORM OUR CHEFS WHEN ORDERING IF YOU WILL PROVIDING YOUR OWN DECORATIONS SO WE WILL BE ABLE TO CHECK SIZE AND CAKE STRENGTH.

WE ONLY GIVE REFUNDS IF THE PRODUCT DOES NOT MEET THE FLAVOR, SIZE, AND GENERAL DESCRIPTION DETAILED ABOVE.
flavour & taste
Product must be brought back to us within 24 hours of your event.
A store credit will be offered if the quality of the cake flavor or texture is determined to not meet our standards. You will be compensated according to how much of the cake is left. We CANNOT refund a fully eaten cake.
Please understand we cannot control changes in texture or changes in colour or shape due to weather conditions.
OUR CAKES ARE BAKED FROM SCRATCH WITH ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS. PLEASE CONSULT OUR CHEFS FOR STORING AND HANDLING OF ITEMS.
Two weeks notice required for standard cakes/bakes.
One month notice required for custom cakes/bakes.
Two months notice for tiered/corporate orders.
Any initial and subsequent payment will be lost/not refunded outside of the above cancellation notice. You may choose to keep payments as store credit for future orders.
THERE WILL BE NO CREDIT GIVEN FOR ORDERS CANCELLED OUTSIDE THE REQUIREMENTS, CREDIT MAY BE GIVEN FOR A FUTURE ORDER, LESS THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE RE-USED. THIS OFFER IS SUBJECT TO THE DATE BEING AVAILABLE.
If we give you a cash refund, you CANNOT keep the cake. You can only get the refund if you refuse to “accept” the cake. We will NOT negotiate a partial refund if you keep the cake. This is a “take it, or leave it” policy. We are not responsible for any expense you may incur for replacing our cake.
We will give you a cash refund if we fail to deliver or finish your cake on the date and time stated on your contract for your wedding, or event. Further, if customer provides wrong date, time or address for delivery, we will NOT provide a refund.
photographs & marketing
We respect the privacy of all our clients. We will not disclose the identity of clients (photographs of people, last names, event details, contract details) without permission. We do however, reserve the right to photograph baked goods and use those photos on our website, social media, or marketing materials. We also reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.
Payments made in securing the cakes, including the initial deposit or subsequent payments, up to and including final payments will be kept as store credit up to 12 months from initial notice.
No refunds will be made if customers choose to cancel the cake once it has been postponed. (If customer is the party who has requested the postponement.)
All re-booking of postponed cakes should only be valid on our operating hours and opening days. Requesting for dates where the bakery is closed will automatically consider order as cancellation - no refunds).
We will discuss better options — such as dividing credit to several cakes but if our slots are full, you will be required to choose another available slot or keep all payments as credit for future orders.
Please understand that some and most items or ingredients for your orders may have been purchased. All purchased toy toppers or name plaque toppers may not be refunded.
If postponement was done by client, we WILL NOT offer any refunds under any circumstance. Clients will be bound to the terms as stated.
Governing Law & Resolution of Dispute
CLIENTS MAY FACE LEGAL LAWSUIT IF ISSUES ARE NOT FIRST, DIRECTED TO MANGKIU BAKES BEFORE POSTING ON SOCIAL PLATFORMS. THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE SUBJECT TO AND GOVERNED BY LAWS OF MALAYSIA.
THE PARTIES HERETO ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT, ANY LEGAL ACTION BROUGHT PURSUANT TO THIS AGREEMENT SHALL ONLY BE OF PROPER VENUE EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN THE COURTS OF THE STATE OF SABAH.
ANY LITIGATION RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT, BROUGHT BY CLIENT SHALL BE COMMENCED AND MAINTAINED ONLY IN A STATE COURT LOCATED NEAREST TO COMPANY’S PRINCIPAL OFFICE.ALL CLAIMS, DISPUTES, AND OTHER MATTERS IN QUESTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT, OR THE BREACH OF THIS AGREEMENT (IN ANY EVENT, A “DISPUTE”) SHALL FIRST BE SUBMITTED TO NON-BINDING MEDIATION.
THE MEDIATOR MAY OFFER SUCH GUIDANCE AS THE MEDIATOR DEEMS APPROPRIATE TO FACILITATE THE RESOLUTION OF THE DISPUTE.
