STIFF ICING

Mangkiu Bakes have developed our own stiff icing buttercream to withstand the warm climate here, not the best but they are better than fresh cream and has a white finish if compared to buttercream. They are a cheaper alternative to fondant but both stiff icing and fondant are best indoors and in air conditioned place. Each and every one of our custom cakes is designed to reflect individuality. Not to mention they are handmade from scratch, with only fresh, quality and delicious ingredients.

When it comes to wedding cakes, this is a go-to option for many couples. It can be easily flavored and colored, spreads easily and lends itself as a canvas for piping or fresh flowers. If compared to fondant, this finish is within budget and not too heavy, it complements a cake and offers countless options for design.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT NAKED CAKES

Naked cakes are exposed, which means they also dry out faster. We frost these cakes a maximum of 8 hours before your event and decorate them after. Always opt for fresh flowers for a natural rustic look.

FONDANT CAKES

Fondant finishing is super smooth and silky and they remain chew-able and soft even after a few days. Depending on what you want, fondant can be white for classic wedding cakes or can be coloured very vividly and decorated in different ways. Fondant also seals in moisture by acting like an air tight container. Although they can be heavy and weighs down light cakes, limiting your choices to denser recipes.
